A Life Altering Event: Divorce, Illness, Loss of a Loved One

divorce illness loss of a loved one - how to copeDivorce. Separation. Illness. Loss of a loved one. Life’s adversities that make you feel like your entire world is falling apart. It’s so exhausting to feel this way day after day after day.

These events are extraordinary not because they occur rarely, but because they are so overwhelming when they do. You can become disconnected from your strengths and your dreams. Your buddy system of support may be absent. Optimism fades. The pain and suffering is real. But resilience is also very real and can be cultivated during and after a life altering event.

Coaching After a Life Altering Event is:

Divorce/Separation

When I went through my divorce over 15 years ago, my life, my husband’s life and the lives of my children were turned inside out. The fear, stress and instability can sap the energy from you, leaving little to enjoy life. Your whole being may have faded and you are unable to remember who you are.

Cultivate resilience instead of living in panic, unease and uncertainty.

I MET SHARON AT A WORKSHOP SHE WAS GIVING FOR DIVORCED/SEPARATED PEOPLE. I GAINED SO MUCH INSIGHT AFTER DOING HER STRENGTHS AND VALUES EXERCISE. I HAVE BEEN LIVING SOMEONE ELSE’S VALUES AND NOW I KNOW WHY LIFE WASN’T WORKING. NOW I CAN LIVE MY VALUES. THANK YOU FOR YOUR LISTENING AND COMPASSION. – ANONYMOUS

Illness

I can only imagine the emotional upheaval that you must be going through. I know second hand through my husband, daughter, mother, sister, aunt and two best friends the effects overwhelm and stress of the unknown can have on a person, leaving one struggling to find the joy in life. Your may feel your voice has faded and you’re unable to be heard.

Cultivate resilience to reconnect to your strengths, values and beliefs instead of living in constant upheaval.

“SHARON HELPED ME FURTHER UNDERSTAND THE GRIEF PROCESS, I ONLY WISH WE HAD MORE TIME IN HER WORKSHOP.” – GA PROSTATE CANCER SURVIVOR

Loss of a Loved One

If someone you loved has died, you have my heartfelt empathy. I personally know what it means to experience the death of a loved one. When my mother died over 20 years ago from cancer, it was the first time in my life that death struck so close. I have had the experience of my world shattering 3 more times after that.

The pain, confusion and uncertainty can drain the life force from you. Experiencing the death of a loved one can take the color from your world. You may not know who you are or your purpose in life.

Cultivate resilience to figure out how you can come to terms with your loss, and rebuild yourself and your life.

“I CONTACTED SHARON WHEN I WAS FEELING LIKE I WAS BEING SWALLOWED UP BY MY GRIEF AFTER MY HUSBAND’S DEATH. I WAS GETTING OVERWHELMED BY MY EXPERIENCE AND NEEDED GUIDANCE, SUPPORT AND ENCOURAGEMENT. SHARON HAS HELPED ME ON MY PATH TO HEALING AND PERSONAL SELF GROWTH. SHE HAS BEEN A CATALYST TO ME ADJUSTING MY PERSPECTIVE ON ANGER AS IT RELATES TO MY HUSBAND, HELPED ME TO NOT PERSONALIZE AND FEEL SHAME, AS WELL AS LIGHTED THE PATH ON MY JOURNEY TOWARDS BEING MORE LOVING AND COURAGEOUS IN MY CURRENT RELATIONSHIPS. I BELIEVED THAT IF I LET GO OF THE ANGER, I WOULD LET GO OF HIM. WITH HER HELP, I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO PUT MY GRIEF INTO PERSPECTIVE, CHERISH THE MEMORIES OF MY LATE HUSBAND AND SHARE OPENLY WITH OUR DAUGHTER. THANK YOU SHARON, I WILL PAY IT FORWARD.” – KIM FULLER
